DESCRIPTION:
Baby Bear is curious, he goes where Mama said, 'Don't!' He finds himself adrift in a BIG, BIG ocean! Will Mama find him before his piece of pack ice melts?
A story for early childhood and lower primary with themes of risk taking, keeping safe, obeying rules, becoming lost and being found. The book also introduces small children to the idea of protecting our environment, animal habitats, melting of the pack ice and global warming.
REVIEWS:
"A polar bear cub balances on an ice shelf to watch orcas chasing seals. But the shelf breaks, leaving him just a little bit of ice to sit on, in the immensity of the ocean. He has lost his mother, his friends and his sibling, too - he is all alone.
Without actually talking about the environment and climate change, it brings home clearly that the bear cub's ice floe is melting fast. He's found by his mother, and saved, but.."- Dr. Virginia Lowe, Create a Kids' Book, June 2016.
"Fluffy, mischievous polar bears and the danger from orcas. J.R. Poulter has written a delightful picture book for younger audiences that not only entertains, but contains some factual information about the animals to be found in the North Pole." - Bianca Thorburn, Teacher-Librarian, Experienced Senior Teacher, M. Ed.TL.

AUTHOR BIO:
Caroline Tuohey is a writer whose main interest is writing children’s poems and stories. She also enjoys writing bush poetry and she is enjoying the performance side of this fantastic style of writing. Her first rhyming picture book called ‘Climb’ is a celebration of adventurous play and childhood imagination and is for children aged up to six. It is illustrated by Emma Stuart. ‘Climb’ is available in bookshops and on this website, as well as the publisher’s website (Little Steps Publishing) and all good online bookshops. ’Climb’ has just been named a finalist in the Children’s Picture Book: Softcover Fiction’ category of the 2014 International Book Awards. Caroline's second rhyming picture book ‘Hector’s Holiday’ is now part of the Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal merchandise pack distributed free to children. She has a book of her original bush poetry called ‘Riverina Rain And Other Poems’. Some of Caroline's other writing is available on merchandise, so you are invited to look in the ‘Shop’ section of her website– you’ll find a tea towel, coffee mug and a beautiful children’s short story anthology.
DESCRIPTION:
Forest Wonder is a rhyming picture book set in the Australian bush and tells the tale of creatures who enjoy a forest party on a moon-lit night. It celebrates the wonders to be found in nature but also encourages children to use their imagination and enjoy a little bit of magic.
BACKGROUND:
The picture book Forest Wonder has been a self-publishing collaboration between writer and poet Caroline Tuohey and illustrator and graphic designer Muza Ulasowski. Having written a rhyming story about Australia’s wonderful array of forest animals, Caroline scoured the Illustrator’s Australia website in search of a potential collaborator. The detail and colour in Muza Ulasowski’s artwork immediately caught her eye – especially a beautiful illustrated possum. In one of those lovely serendipitous moments, just prior to Muza receiving the query email from Caroline, she had been thinking she would like to illustrate a project that featured native Australian animals.
The rest, as they say, is history.

Rausin also blog posts in KD Rausin.com, which attracts readers from over 145 countries. She lives in sunny Florida with her family.
DESCRIPTION:
Elle and Buddy is the story of a young girl who discovers a passion for racing wheelchairs. The inspiration for Elle and Buddy is from K.D. Rausin's daughter who was the pioneer in making adaptive track available to teens in Florida high schools and is now a member of the University of Illinois Wheelchair Track Team.
BACKGROUND - THE REAL ELLE:
Arielle Rausin was born on September 16, 1993 in Santa Monica, California. At the age of ten she was paralyzed in a car accident. When Arielle was in seventh grade her P.E. teacher, Ms. Black, challenged her to run a 5K and join her middle school track team. Arielle ran her first few races in her everyday wheelchair and then discovered racing wheelchairs. Florida history was made…
In 2009, when Arielle wanted to join her high school track team, she was told she was not allowed. The Florida High School Athletic Association did not recognize adaptive sports. Arielle advocated for herself and with the help of the community, Loretta Purish and Lew Friedland, the FHSAA developed an adaptive track program in 2010 for high school athletes across Florida. Today, Arielle Rausin is an athlete on the University of Illinois wheelchair racing team.

In 2007 Tattybogle the Musical was created by Ruth Kenward of Starshine Music and is being performed all over the world. I Can't See You! was the first collaborative book between Sandra Horn and Muza Ulasowski, with the e-book version first appearing on www.uTales.com.

Finally he loses his temper and stomps off to the edge of the ice, closing his eyes and covering his ears so he can’t see or hear his friends. Then the ice breaks away andTippy is swept away into the bay. With his eyes shut and his ears covered up, he has encounters he doesn’t even know about – but the ice beneath his feet is slowly melting… Then Tippy’s big flat feet save the day and turn him into a hero – the penguin who invented surfing!
A book about turning being different into a positive.
REVIEWS:
"I Can’t Hear You! I Can’t See You! is one of those books that shows great team work between the author and illustrator. The pictures and words compliment each other beautifully. I love the large illustrations that jump out of the page and take you to with them to the next one. You can see and feel the movement of each character which creates a desire to reach out and touch them, expecting to feel the soft down of a penguin.
I Can’t Hear You! I Can’t See You! is a high quality children’s picture book that will be enjoyed by all who read it. It is a visual journey that stimulates the senses creating a warm pleasurable experience that enhances the sharing pleasure." - Jennifer Douglas, Literary Publicist.

DESCRIPTION:
It is Suvi’s first winter. When the colourful Northern Lights appear in the sky, she can’t stop gazing up at them. Her Grand-Deer tells her an old Two-legs story: the Lights are Sky Folk who will snatch away anyone who waves at them. Old Man Wolf comes prowling and howling. Suvi runs off in fright and loses the herd. All alone, she meets some strange creatures and then Old Man Wolf looms out of the snow again, waving his tail...
An enchanting story, set in the Arctic night.
REVIEWS:

"...Suvi and the Sky Folk is one of those books that blends beautifully from page to page and keeps you in suspense as you travel the journey. It contains all that a good picture book should, that of clear inviting illustrations, large font that is easy to read and a story that not only invites but educates and intrigues. Sandra Horn has managed to weave magic in such few words, including not only love and warmth but a little bit of suspense and danger with a feel good outcome.
I truly hope it is not the last we see of this author/illustrator partnership. The magic they weave as a team is a delight to behold and an asset to children’s literature." - Jennifer Douglas, Literary Publicist

REVIEWS:
"This is another high quality book illustrated by Muza Ulasowski. She has yet again created a pictorial journey that breathes life, love and friendship. This book as a whole speaks of the purity of love and of home being the place where our heart is. The facial expressions of Elliot and later Joseph are just perfect, carrying through the emotions of the words written by Amelia Picklewiggle. Like all books illustrated by Muza, I could feel the softness of the human skin and wanted to pat Elliot and run my fingers through his soft fur. I also wanted to wrap my arms around Elliot and Joseph and hug them tight, celebrating the love they had just found in each other.
I highly recommend this book to any family with an Autistic child. I have an Autistic son, who although verbal, has his difficulties and has found love and companionship in a cat. My 6 year old has heard the words Autistic used in relation to her brother but has never asked for an explanation. Elliot Finds A Home was a great resource for the introduction into Autism and how Autistic people are different. It opens the door for conversation about the companionship and comfort animals bring to our lives." - Jennifer Douglas, Literary Publicist.

AUTHOR BIO:
Xavier Waterkeyn is a best-selling author and editor of over two dozen books about subjects as varied as True Crime, Technology, History and Weight Loss with many years experience in a wide variety of fields - too many to mention - but including, documentary direction, media and education, and that of a Brain Coach.
But just what is it that makes Xavier qualified to help you tune up your thought processes is that he's very good at tackling a subject that he starts by knowing nothing about, and then three months later producing a 100,000-word book about it and being able to talk authoritatively about that subject in the media - whether it's in a 10-second sound bite or in a two-hour long in-depth interview. How does he do it?
Well, the short answer is that he practices what he preaches and is the first person who'll try a new learning or communication technique to see how it works. In short, he knows how to learn, quickly, and he knows how to express that knowledge clearly and effectively to almost anybody. Better still, he knows how to teach what he knows too. That's what qualifies him to be a Brain Coach.
DESCRIPTION:
Did Michael Jackson really pass on? Or is he alive inside this book? See if you can find him along with several other famous characters who seem to have 'disappeared'.
With scenes from Thriller, We Are The World, Neverland, hair on fire on stage, plastic surgery at the hospital, find the silver glove and the fake nose and watch, Michael's appearance change throughout this book.
Great fun for all ages, collect the whole series.

Inspired partly by the mysterious death of J.R. McRae's mother's youngest brother and J.R.'s mother's lifelong inability to move on from his death, which J.R. feels was partly due to the cover up of the circumstances of his death and partly because, in those days, children were not considered to 'understand' death or suffer grief like adults.

"This story captures in a beautifully descriptive way some of the
magical creatures of the sea. The illustrations complement the mood of the story which will reel the interests of little ones in hook, line and sinker!" - Adrienne O'Connell, teacher, B.A., Grad.
